After a hectic first month on the road it was time to slow things down a little bit. We spent 10 days exploring the northern islands of Taveuni and Vanua Levu in Fiji. Taveuni is known as the ‘Garden Island’ and certainly lives up to its name with lush rainforest covering most of the island, punctuated with a few sandy beaches and pretty little villages. Vanua Levu is Fiji’s second largest island but you wouldn’t know it – life here is laid back, even compared to the rest of Fiji! We made it to Sau Bay, Buca Bay and Savusavu and enjoyed every slow-paced second.
